Course Description

A forum for the presentation and discuss of research in progress by graduate students( Second year and above), faculty, and visiting scholars. Anyone working on International Relations is welcome. Occasional presentations by invited speakers. To take the course for 2 unit credit the student will agree to make at least one presentation of work-in- progress per semester and to serve as a discussant for another student or faculty member’s presentation at least once per semester. Students will be expected to read the week’s presentation in advance and be prepared to engage in discussion with classmates and the week’s discussant. Grades for students enrolled at 2 units will be assigned based on their presentation (50%) discussant (30%) participation (20%) To take the course for 1 unit students are expected to attend all class meetings and participate in class discussions. These students will not be required to present to class. They will be encouraged to read the week’s presentation in advance. Grades for students enrolled at 1 unit will be assigned based on attendance (40%) and participation (60%).
