Tickets are required for everyone except graduates.
On Commencement Day, tickets will be sold at the North Gate of the Greek Theatre only when the gates open at 6:00PM. Please NOTE that the Greek Theatre Ticket Office only accepts cash - not credit card! There is no limit to the number of tickets that may be purchased. Seating is general admission. Tickets are $15. Additional processing fees apply if tickets are purchased by phone or online.
Children age two and younger: Complimentary tickets for children ages 2 and younger will be available for pick-up in advance of the ceremony at the Ticket Office at Zellerbach Hall and on the day of the event at the Box Office at the Greek Theatre.
Graduation announcements are formal notices to send to family and friends announcing your graduation. Announcements come in two forms, generic or personalized, and can be purchased from the Cal Student Store(external link).Announcements are formal notices, not invitations. You may include an invitation with your announcement.
Cap & Gown
Caps and gowns will be available for purchase at the Cal Student Store (Graduation department) at 2495 Bancroft Way and the Student Store at 2470/2480 Bancroft Way after Spring Break. The Cal Student Store also has a Graduation Kick-Off Event on March 17-19. Find Class of 2020’s My Grad, the Official Grad Fair, on Lower Sproul from 10AM-4PM. You can purchase regalia (caps, gowns, tassels), diploma covers and other graduation products at this event and avoid the end of the semester rush.
Masters and Doctoral students can rent hoods for the ceremony from the Cal Student Store(external link). You can also purchase your graduation gown and hood.
Students completing their honors thesis in Political Science are eligible to wear an honors cord during the commencement ceremony. Cords will be conferred at the Honors Reception (students will be notified of the exact day and time via e-mail).
Professional photographs at the ceremony will be taken by Grad Images Photo.
