Personal Statement
I am a PhD student in political science at the University of California, Berkeley, studying comparative politics. Most of my research looks at the causes and consequences of contentious politics in developing countries. I have a particular regional interest in Southeast Asia. I graduated from Oberlin College in 2014. Before starting graduate school, I worked in Jakarta at Saiful Mujani Research & Consulting, a political consultancy specializing in public opinion surveys. Prior to that, I received a Fulbright grant to Indonesia in 2014-2015.
