Maya Lu

I am a first year PhD student at UC Berkeley. I am interested in researching forced migration in developing countries. More specifically, I am interested in the formation and malleability of attitudes towards forced migrants, when these attitudes become politically salient, and the determinants of bureaucratic behavior, including violence and policy (non)implementation, towards migrants. I plan to focus my research in the regions of Africa and Southeast Asia. I received my B.S. with Highest Honors in Political Science/Data Analytics from UC San Diego.
