Personal Statement
Maya is a PhD Student studying Comparative Politics at the Department of Political Science at UC Berkeley. Her research interests center on the international and domestic politics of labor migration, namely the provision of migrant protections and how the specifications of temporary migration regimes are determined and influenced. Her regional focus includes Northeast and Southeast Asia. She received her B.S. with Highest Honors in Political Science/Data Analytics from UC San Diego.
