Personal Statement
I am a PhD candidate in political theory at UC Berkeley. I studied philosophy and physics for my BA at the University of Chicago and then pursued an MPhil in intellectual history from the University of Cambridge.
My interests are at the intersection of legal history and American political thought. In particular, I want to study continuity in the twentieth century and the influence on legal ideas of empirical political science.
Even as my interests have turned towards intellectual history, I am still fascinated by the philosophy of history and the problems it poses for thinking about the present.
