Personal Statement

Hello! I am a first-year PhD student in the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. I am interested in studying how social interactions and novel information environments influence American political behavior and opinion. In my work thus far, I have mainly leveraged online observational data and computational methods to study elite political communication on social media platforms. I have peripheral interests in the study of social networks, complex systems, and meta-science more broadly.

I received a B.A. in Politics (with Honors) and a B.A. in Sociology from New York University (2022), where I worked as a research assistant at The Center for Social Media and Politics, as well as for faculty in the Department of Politics. I was also previously an APSA Ralph Bunche Summer Institute Scholar (2021).
