Alexander Del Greco

Alexander Del Greco's research focuses on historical state and regime development in Latin America. One project seeks to understand how Chile was able to consolidate a cohesive military so shortly after independence; another probes why some countries achieved competitive elections and legislative checks on executive power before the close of the nineteenth century whereas others did not. He also runs the department's Qualitative Methods Workshop.
