Personal Statement
Gianmarco Fifi is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow jointly affiliated with the University of California, Berkeley, and the European University Institute (in Florence). Previously, he served as the Nicholas Barr Fellow in European Political Economy at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Gianmarco’s research focuses on the political economy of crisis management, examining how crises influence European integration. He is particularly interested in how economic crises reshape actors’ policy preferences and their perceptions of Europe’s future. His work has been published in the Journal of European Public Policy, Review of International Political Economy, and New Political Economy, among other journals.
