Personal Statement
I am a PhD Candidate in Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on comparative politics and political theory. In comparative politics, I am interested in climate change, inequality, and state-led development within the context of contemporary global capitalism. My ongoing dissertation project investigates divergent patterns in energy planning among middle income countries from the 1990s to the present. In political theory, I am interested in how ecological crises bear on contemporary normative and methodological debates, as well as points of intersection and conflict between Marx, Rawls, communitarianism, and American pragmatism.
