Founded nearly a decade ago, Women in Political Science (WiPS) is a forum for networking and professional advancement that simultaneously provides a secure place to discuss challenges common to women pursuing academic research. WiPS hosts a variety of events throughout the school year, including semester dinners, happy hours, and other programs. These events bring together graduate students of all years and female faculty and staff to share their experiences and answer common questions about going on the job market, working as a graduate student instructor, and identifying dissertation committee members. WiPS aims to provide resources for and promote and represent the interests of female graduate students in the department as they move through the Ph.D. program.
