UC Blockeley holding a Virtual Graduation Ceremony

A few week ago, UC Berkeley and the Political Science Department had to cancel their Spring 2020 Commencement events as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Then, the University of Blockeley was created in Minecraft. UC Blockeley is the version of the campus built by some very creative UC Berkeley students in the game Minecraft. On May 16th, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. there will be a "formal" ceremony both in the game and broadcast on YouTube and Twitch. This is fantastic opportunity for both students or their parents to participate in once-in-a-lifetime virtual ceremony. Both Chancellor Christ and Marc Fisher will be speaking "live" at this ceremony. The university is also working on identifying a keynote speaker with students. Please be aware, there will be no individual recognitions or names read during this ceremony. In the coming days the university will list the ceremony at commencement.berkeley.edu so it will be easy for students & their families to access. You can learn more and RSVP for the ceremony at blockeley.com. For more fore information about UC Blockely, check-out this article from KQED.
