Personal Statement

Hello, I am Paulo Cesar Gregorio, a PhD candidate in Political Science and a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Political Science at UC Berkeley, participating in the VSR (Visiting Scholar Researcher) program.

My academic focus lies in the field of Comparative Politics, with a specialization in Party Organizations and Elections. My works centers on Democratic Representation, specifically examining Executive Actions, Campaign Pledges, Government Responsiveness, and Political Accountability. During my tenure at UC Berkeley, I plan to expand my previous research on the efficacy of Executive Actions by conducting a comparative analysis of the Lula and Biden administrations, building on earlier studies of the Bolsonaro and Trump administrations.
