Sean Gailmard

Professor Gailmard's research focuses primarily on American government, particularly accountability in the bureaucracy, executive branch structure, and separation of powers. He specializes in game-theoretic and statistical modeling in these areas. In addition, he conducts laboratory-based experimental research on collective decision making. Professor Gailmard has published articles in leading journals, including the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, and Journal of Politics. He is currently writing a book on accountability and the development of expertise in the executive branch (University of Chicago Press) and a textbook on statistical modeling in social science research (Cambridge University Press).
