Course Description
A graduate seminar on concept and reality of authority. At least one semester of PS 112 or the equivalent is prerequisite. Readings will include selections from H. Arendt, F. Dostoevski, S. Freud, V. Hearne, T. Hobbes, S. Milgram, J.H. Schaar, M. Weber, and the Oxford English Dictionary. We will meet weekly to discuss the readings, and students will write a seminar paper on a topic of their choice related to the course material
