The Department is thrilled to share that alumna (class of 2024) Annie Benn, PhD, has received the 2026 E.E. Schattschneider Award. This award is presented annually by the American Political Science Association (APSA) to honor the best doctoral dissertation in the field of American government.
Dr. Benn's dissertation, titled “Unilateral Action Reconsidered: Congressional Responses to Presidential Directives,” was selected from among a competitive group of dissertations submitted by PhD graduates. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Benn on this achievement.
