Personal Statement:

Now entering the final stage of the graduate program here at Cal, I am currently writing my dissertation on deception and democratic theory.  My primary research interests include democratic, early modern, and American political thought, yet I have been known to dabble in American presidential studies as well.

Before starting the Ph.D program at Berkeley, I received a B.A. from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon (not too far from my hometown of Canby) and took a year off between my undergraduate and graduate studies to work in a legislative office in the Oregon State Senate.
