New Faculty Hire Joins Department
Professor Alison Post joins the department from Harvard University. She studies comparative political economy, focusing on the politics of urban and regional development. In particular, her research examines the politics of regulating urban infrastructure and utilities investment in Latin America. She has conducted field research in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, and the United Kingdom. Her doctoral dissertation, “Liquid Assets and Fluid Contracts: Explaining the Uneven Effects of Water and Sanitation Privatization,” won the 2009 William Anderson award from the American Political Science Association for the best dissertation in the general field of federalism, intergovernmental relations, state or local politics. In addition to the Political Science department, Post is also part of the Global Metropolitan Studies program.
