International Relations

Pending budgetary approval, the Department of Political Science at the University of California, BERKELEY, is authorized to make an appointment (a tenure-track Assistant Professor or a tenured appointment, provided the candidate is no more than 12 years past the PhD) in the field of International Relations, effective July 1, 2008. The position is open with respect to all subfields and analytic approaches in international relations. The department is particularly interested in candidates whose research lies at the intersection of international relations and other areas such as comparative politics, law, methods, or political theory. Political Behavior

The Department of Political Science at the University of California, BERKELEY, is authorized to make an appointment of assistant professor (tenure-track) in Political Behavior, pending budgetary approval. Applicants with any research specialization within the specified field will be considered. For example, we are interested in voting and political participation, political values and attitudes, political psychology, behavioral economics applied to political science, racial and ethnic values and beliefs, groups and social movements, comparative political behavior, elite and mass behavior, political belief formation and decision-making, and any topic within the general area of political behavior. Applicants should be broadly trained and have strong creative and methodological skills, including a broad background in quantitative analysis that is used in either survey or experimental research. In addition to producing outstanding research scholarship, the successful candidate will be expected to teach courses for undergraduate and graduate students.
