About the Charles and Louise Travers

Col. Charles Terrance Travers
Class of '32 BA, Humanities
Col. Travers was a generous supporter of UC Berkeley. He generously donated a major gift of twelve million dollars to the Political Science department. Travers graduated from UC Berkeley in 1932, and met his late wife, Louise in a Political Science course. Several of his relatives attended Cal, including his brother Donald ('44 BA History), and son Charles ('58 A, Civil Engineering), who has also supported Cal through donations.
He once wrote, "I would like to be remembered as having great gratitude for all that the University of California did for me. Go bears--on the field--off the field." Col. Travers passed away in November, 2005. He was 95 years old.
