Overview
The Charles and Louise Travers Department of Political Science sponsors several lecture series, seminars, and colloquia in conjunction with a few of the University's research centers. Please follow the links below to find schedules, links to papers, and information about the speakers.
- Comparative Politics Colloquium Faculty, graduate students, and invited scholars meet weekly to present current research in the field of comparative politics. The papers discussed at the colloquium address a broad range of topics, methodologies, and regions of the world.
- Monday International Relations Thoughts Colloquium (MIRTH) On Monday afternoons, the Institute of International Studies hosts an informal colloquium where prominent speakers are invited to participate in a conversation with affiliated faculty, graduate students and visiting scholars about pressing issues of international relations.
- The Travers Lecture Series on U.S. Foreign Policy Throughout the 2009-2010 academic year, IIS and IGS will co-sponsor a series of lectures and seminars on the foreign policy challenges facing the Obama administration. This series has been made possible by a contribution from the Charles and Louise Travers Endowment.
- Seminar on Institutions and Positive Political Theory (PPT) Positive Political Theory (PPT) is the use of formal methods to study politics and, especially, institutions. The PPT seminar is supported by and is co-sponsored by the department and the Institute of Governmental Studies.
